Description
Neoregelia chlorosticta originates from a small distribution area in southeastern Brazil (Itatiaia National Park) and is extremely rare in the wild. However, in cultivation it is one of the most popular species, easy to keep and propagate, and also the parent species of many popular Neoregelia hybrids.
It probably has the most striking markings of all Neoregelia species . It is deep red with green (chloro) spots (sticta), even in relatively low light. It grows upright, bottle-shaped with a bulbous form (storing a lot of water!), and remains quite small, reaching a diameter of about 20 cm. It can also remain significantly smaller if it receives very bright light. The white/pink flowers are rather inconspicuous compared to the brightly colored plant.
You will receive an almost fully grown plant, approximately 15 cm tall , without pot and substrate.
