Niphidium crassifolium (Graceful Fern)

This large fern originates from Central America, where it grows as an epiphyte on larger trees, and rarely on the forest floor. The fronds are very stiff and can reach up to 80 cm in length and 5 cm in width. Their upper surface is slightly ribbed and covered with numerous small, white dots. On the underside (in larger plants), many sori are arranged in regular rows. The fronds grow from a dense, black rhizome, which can become quite large over time. Its growth is rather slow.

A very attractive fern for medium to large terrariums or the windowsill.

Shipped in a 12cm pot, plant diameter 15 - 20 cm.
