Description
Palisota barteri is a member of the Commelinaceae family from tropical West Africa. It forms a basal rosette of oblong, slightly wavy, and hairy leaves that grow to approximately 40 to 50 cm in length. The entire plant reaches a diameter of about 1 meter when fully grown.
It is autogamous (self-fertile) and initially produces an inconspicuous inflorescence. The berries, which develop and ripen entirely on their own, turn bright red and are very conspicuous. If left unpicked, they remain on the plant for several months.
It is extremely easy to care for and quite undemanding, and its unusual, fern-like shape immediately catches the eye. Very rare in cultivation, but nevertheless a great houseplant.
You will receive a young plant approximately 15 to 20cm in diameter in a 9cm pot.
