Description
Passiflora trifasciata originates from Peru, Brazil, and Ecuador. This delicate passionflower immediately catches the eye with its beautifully patterned, tricolored leaves. The leaves are three-lobed, and a colored stripe runs from the base to the tip of each lobe. On fresh leaves, this stripe is red to pink. The pattern fades over time from pink to a light green. Therefore, there are no differently colored varieties of this species; the different colors simply reflect the younger or older leaves. The undersides of the leaves are uniformly red.
The flowers of Passiflora trifasciata are quite small and rather inconspicuous, ranging in color from white to pale pink. Due to its delicate appearance and thin leaves, we tend to see it as a terrarium plant, but there are also numerous reports that it can thrive as a houseplant under good conditions. In a terrarium, however, it definitely grows easily and incredibly quickly.
You will receive a vine approximately 20 to 30cm long in a 7cm pot.
Please note: The leaves and stems are very thin and delicate. Damage during transport is unfortunately unavoidable, but due to the rapid growth, it is quickly forgotten.
