Peperomia rotundifolia

This dwarf pepper plant is very widespread and common in Central and South America, colonizing almost all habitats there. It grows everywhere in shady to sunny, somewhat moist locations, both on the ground and epiphytically on trees and branches , and lithophytically on rocks . Over time, it forms dense stands , creating a thick carpet, and rarely grows taller than 5 cm. The leaves are slightly thickened and succulent. There are several subspecies of P. rotundifolia , which differ in leaf shape and size. The growing conditions also influence the leaves. If kept drier, the leaves become thicker and more succulent; if kept in more humid conditions, they become thinner.

This dwarf pepper plant is an ideal ground cover for medium to large terrariums. It is also easy to care for as a houseplant.

You will receive a strong plant in an 8cm round pot with shoots approximately 10-20cm long.
