Description
Philodendron campii is an unusual Philodendron species from Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. Unlike most other Philodendron, it does not climb, or climbs only very weakly, in nature. Here are some pictures of Philodendron campii in nature. While the stem does get longer over time, its growth is more reminiscent of Anthurium, with short internodal distances. The leaves also resemble an Anthurium. They are short-petioled, obovate to spatulate, and conspicuously ribbed, similar to Anthurium veitchii or Anthurium reflexinervium. They grow up to 60 cm long and are about 15 cm wide at their widest point.
Since it does not climb, it is also adapted to less light (as it reaches the rainforest floor) than many other Philodendron. It also does not need a climbing aid in the form of a coir or moss pole for a long time.
You will receive a strong plant in a 12cm pot.
