Description
Philodendron scandens is an uncomplicated and easy-to-care-for plant suitable for almost any location, and, similar to the popular Pothos (Epipremnum aureum), it tolerates low light and drought well. 'Lime' is a cultivated variety of the classic P. scandens with strikingly bright, lemon-yellow to light-green leaves. It stands out fantastically, especially among other plants with "normal" leaf colors, immediately catching the eye. Due to the lower chlorophyll content in its leaves, P. scandens 'Lime' grows somewhat slower than regular P. scandens.
This species originally comes from Central and South America, where it is widespread in tropical regions. P. scandens grows as a vine up trees, and this should be replicated at home, for example, with a climbing pole. However, it can also be grown as a hanging plant in a hanging pot.
Furthermore, this Philodendron probably bears the silliest common name of all Philodendrons. Why precisely this species is called "Climbing Philodendron," when there are almost exclusively climbing species in this genus of almost 500 species, has never made sense to us...
Philodendron scandens 'Lime' is sometimes also sold as P. micans Lime.
You will receive a beautiful plant with several shoots in a 12cm round pot. Vines are usually at least 10cm long, often longer.
