Description
This plant is often sold as Pilea mollis or simply Pilea 'Moon Valley'. Which of the two botanical names is actually correct is disputed.
Regardless of its name, it's easy to care for, both in a terrarium and indoors. It grows to about 30 cm tall and has serrated leaves along the edges. The structure of the leaves is particularly striking. Each leaf has numerous small, pointed bumps ("bullae"), each topped with a single hair. The area between these bullae is sunken and reddish in color. Depending on the amount of light it receives, this reddish coloration can extend to larger portions of the leaf.
It has rather inconspicuous, small, white flowers and short inflorescences.
You will receive a plant approximately 10cm tall in an 8.5cm pot.
