Piper macropiper 'variegata'

A decorative, trailing to creeping pepper plant from Southeast Asia and India with beautifully white variegated leaves. Quite fast-growing and robust.

This species is widespread in the Malay Archipelago, Papua, and northern Australia, and develops quite large leaves. This variegated form remains somewhat smaller.

The pattern on the leaves can vary greatly; usually the center remains green, and the variegation extends in two broad stripes along the leaf edges. However, some leaves are completely variegated.

The leaves are also very glossy, which makes photographing them somewhat difficult...



You will receive a well-rooted young plant, approximately 20 to 40cm long in a 9cm pot.



Please note: Piper species are very sensitive to temperature. The plants will only be shipped again in styrofoam boxes with heat packs once nighttime temperatures are consistently between 12 and 15 °C. This may not be until the end of February or even March. Until then, paid plants will remain in our greenhouse and are reserved for you. Orders containing Piper species will NOT be split into partial shipments.
