Description
Pothos scandens has a wide distribution, from Malaysia through southern India to Southeast Asia. It grows in the undergrowth of tropical forests and creeps closely clinging to large rainforest trees to a height of several meters.
True Pothos differ significantly from pothos ( Epipremnum ), which were formerly classified in the genus Pothos and are sometimes still referred to as "golden pothos" or simply "pothos." Pothos scandens remains considerably smaller and more delicate than Epipremnum aureum , and the broadly lobed petioles of older plants, in particular, clearly distinguish it from pothos. Within its vast distribution area, there are several quite distinct-looking forms of P. scandens , which were formerly considered separate species but are now all classified as the same species.
The variety we sell here has rather broad leaves. It most closely resembles the Pothos scandens form found in Madagascar. This was formerly known as Pothos chapelieri .
As mentioned above, true Pothos are much smaller and more delicate than pothos. We therefore recommend keeping them in a terrarium.
You will receive a young plant in a 7cm pot.
