Description
Rhipsalis puniceodiscus comes from southern Brazil and can be kept somewhat drier than other tropical leaf cacti.
It has fine, round, thornless shoots that produce many aerial roots. There is no known limit to the growth of these stems; if left unpruned, they can essentially grow as long as desired.
In nature, this cactus grows epiphytically, meaning on and around trees, though not in rainforests but rather in subtropical forests where there is a pronounced dry season. It therefore copes somewhat better with desiccation than tropical Rhipsalis .
The flowers are small, white at the edges and pink in the center, and develop into yellow-orange berries.
Shipped in a 14 cm hanging pot. XL plant, at least 50 cm long.
