Description
Schismatoglottis sp. Thailand is an indeterminate (possibly undescribed) very small Schismatoglottis species, probably from Borneo. Although it bears the trade name "sp. Thailand," it likely does not originate from Thailand. It merely first appeared in cultivation there.
It is distinguished by its attractively patterned light and dark leaves and its low, compact growth habit. It rarely grows taller than 15 cm and grows via an underground rhizome that produces new leaf-bearing stems at short intervals. Over time, it forms a dense stand. It remains significantly smaller than Schismatoglottis pusilla , making it very well suited for small terrariums with a minimum edge length of 30 cm.
It thrives best in a humid, warm terrarium and prefers high humidity of 70% or more. Unfortunately, we cannot (yet) say whether it is also suitable as a houseplant. The species is still too new to cultivation for that.
You will receive a strong plant in a 10.5cm round pot.
