Description

A very pretty micro orchid with numerous tiny pink and yellow flowers.

Lepanthes mariposa is native to Costa Rica and Panama. There, it grows at elevations of 1,300 to 1,500 meters above sea level on moss-covered trees or rocks near rivers and streams. The plant itself is a true mini orchid, growing to just 3 to 5 cm in height. The oval leaves are borne on stems 1 to 3 cm long. The flowers are tiny and appear in large numbers throughout the year, gradually blooming one after another on the same flower stalks.

This absolute tiny plant is perfectly suited for the smallest humid terrariums and bottle gardens.
