Aglaomorpha coronans (snakeskin fern)

Aglaomorpha coronans originates from tropical Southeast Asia, where it grows primarily as an epiphyte on trees. It is characterized by its hairy rhizome, which is densely covered with golden-yellow hairs, giving it a fluffy appearance. Some Aglaomorpha species grow spirally with their rhizomes to collect leaf litter and create their own compost, from which they draw nutrients. The fronds are somewhat leathery and display an attractive pattern reminiscent of reptile scaly skin, which is why it is also called the snakebark fern.
