Bletilla sp. (Garden Orchid) - various colors

Bletillas are terrestrial orchids originating from southern China and Japan, and with some protection, they are fully winter-hardy in our climate! Numerous varieties exist, especially of Bletilla striata , which is known as the "Japanese orchid." The flowers resemble small Pleione and appear in late spring to early summer on panicles of 3 to 8 flowers. They grow to about 30 cm tall. In autumn, the leaves die back, and the plants overwinter as pseudobulbs in the soil.

Bletilla orchids have a reputation for being the absolute easiest garden orchid for a beginner.





You will receive one Bletilla in a 12cm round pot. The plants are in various stages of growth (leafless, leafy, flowering). Therefore, unfortunately, color selection is not possible. If you have a color preference, please write it in the order notes and we will try to accommodate it.
