Bulbophyllum skeatianum 'Orange'

Bulbophyllum skeatianum is a compact Bulbophyllum native to Malaysia and Laos.

It grows in mountain forests and in exposed locations on stunted trees (krummholz) at altitudes of 1,200 to 1,750 metres. Owing to this habitat, it tolerates more light and prefers cooler temperatures than other Bulbophyllum species.

It grows as a compact plant and does not develop long rhizomes between the pseudobulbs. The pseudobulbs are approximately 2 to 4 cm in size and each bear a single leaf, approximately 5 to 8 cm long and 2 to 3 cm wide.

The striking orange flowers with a red centre usually appear from spring into summer on flower stalks approximately 10 cm long, in a cluster of 5 to 15 individual flowers arranged in a fan-like pattern.

You will receive a vigorous, flowering size plant in a 6 cm orchid pot.
