Ceratostylis retisquama

A small to medium-sized climbing orchid from the Philippines. It is widespread in the Philippines and grows epiphytically on large trees in the lowland rainforest. It is fast-growing and has a climbing to trailing habit. The stem and leaf bases are covered with bracts that quickly wither but persist. The delicate, orange flowers, about 2 to 3 cm in diameter, appear on very short stalks, almost directly on the stem. They (unfortunately) only last a few days. However, with proper care, it blooms continuously throughout the year (even as a houseplant with artificial light in winter) and profusely.

The leaves are narrow, thickened, and somewhat curled. In low light, they are very dark green.



You will receive a flowering plant in a 9 cm orchid pot. Many of them will have buds or be in bloom!
