Description
Codonoboea aff. puncticulata is a small, creeping, mat-forming Gesneriaceae from Malaya (southern Malay Peninsula). It grows to about 10 cm tall. The elongated leaves are spatulate to obovate and grow about 4 to 6 cm long and 2 to 3 cm wide and are bicolored. Most of the leaf is dark green to black, with a light green to yellowish pattern only around the midrib. The leaves are covered in purple hairs, and each hair sits on a small bump, giving the leaves a punctate ("puncticulata") appearance.
The flowers are about 1 cm in size, zygomorphic, bluish-purple with white markings, and nodding. Unfortunately, they only last a few days.
We are not 100% sure about the plant's identity, which is why we list it as "aff. puncticulata." The characteristics of the leaves and flowers match the original description; however, plants in nature apparently usually have transparent hairs, instead of purple hairs like our plant.
You will receive a rooted head cutting in a 6 cm pot.
