Description
A very small orchid from Laos, only described as a new species in 2022.
This species was found in a local nursery and is said to originate from the limestone mountains of the Kasi district (Vientiane province) in southern Laos.
Dendrobium fuscifaucium is a true miniature species. It grows to about 5 cm in height, of which approximately 1 cm is accounted for by the small pseudobulbs and 4 cm by the leaves.
The striking pink flowers are relatively large, measuring approximately 8 to 10 mm across, with a dark center, yellow edge, and fringed lip. The flowers last for 2 to 3 weeks.
Flowers appear irregularly but year-round, individually.
