Doryopteris nobilis

Doryopteris nobilis is a tropical fern from Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. It grows to about 40 cm tall and has surprisingly hard, robust leaves. It is closely related to the better-known Mickelopteris cordata but grows significantly larger and, as a mature plant, has pinnately lobed leaves. On mature plants, sori (groups of sporangia) form on the underside of the leaf margins. The petioles and veins are black and also hard, almost like wire.

It grows quite slowly and is very well suited for medium-sized terrariums.

You will receive an almost fully grown plant in a 12cm pot, approximately 25 to 30cm tall.
