Description
This small, climbing or ground-covering Ficus likely originates from Southeast Asia and is ideal for terrariums. It is characterized primarily by its very narrow leaves, especially when allowed to climb. When grown on the ground, the leaves are wider. We do not know what the adult form looks like, but it will likely never be reached when kept in a terrarium.
The fresh leaves are reddish in color when exposed to sufficient light. This makes it somewhat reminiscent of the new growth of Marcgravia sintenisii.
Similar to Ficus ruginervia, it has white glands on the upper surface of the leaves as a young plant. It could even be an extremely narrow-leaved form of F. ruginervia, but we are not certain, which is why we offer it as sp. ‘Narrow Leaf’.
It grows relatively slowly. In our experience, however, it is actually quite hardy if left undisturbed as much as possible (be careful when repotting and prune little or not at all).
You will receive a well-rooted plant in a 5 cm pot.
