Description
This plant is often mistakenly sold as Pilea involucrata 'Norfolk'. This is definitely incorrect. It is a cultivated variety of Pilea spruceana with a particularly pronounced silvery sheen on its leaves. The wild form usually has simply green leaves. Some specimens exhibit a silvery pattern . P. spruceana 'Norfolk' has been selectively bred to be almost entirely silver, right up to the edge of the leaf, giving it an almost artificial appearance.
It is easy to care for, both in a terrarium and indoors. It grows to about 20cm tall and forms dense clumps over time.
It has rather inconspicuous, small, green flowers on short inflorescences.
You will receive a plant approximately 5cm tall in an 8.5cm pot.
