Description
A decorative, trailing to creeping pepper plant from Malaysia and Thailand with beautifully patterned white or reddish/pink leaves. This species is rather slow-growing but quite robust and therefore also suitable as a houseplant.
This pepper plant has a very fine, whitish-silver pattern on its leaves and green veins. It looks a bit like it's been dusted with powdered sugar. This variety is sometimes offered as 'Silver' and sometimes as 'Pink', but in our experience, the color is determined by environmental factors. In low light, the initial pink color remains, while in high light, the leaves turn silver with age. Larger and older plants tend to develop their leaves to a full pink color, whereas small cuttings grown in low light in so-called "prop boxes" tend to remain pink. You can also see in our product images that the same plant produces both color variations.
You will receive a strong young plant in a 9 cm square pot. Approximately 20-30 cm long.
Please note: Piper species are very temperature-sensitive plants. They will only be shipped if nighttime temperatures remain consistently above 10°C (50°F). Depending on the weather, this may lead to shipping delays. Until then, paid plants will remain in our greenhouse and are reserved for you. Orders containing Piper species will NOT be split into multiple shipments. If you have any questions, please contact us by email at webshop@jungle-leaves.de.
