Description
New Zealand xaxim as bedding. For coating the back and side walls of the terrarium. Simply apply a thin layer of silicone to the back wall and sprinkle the xaxim bedding over it.
Xaxim is a natural product made from the trunks of tropical tree ferns.
Xaxim is the ideal substrate for epiphytic plants, such as orchids, ferns, and bromeliads. Their roots grow into the Xaxim, which simultaneously retains water and allows air to reach the roots. With regular misting, numerous ferns and mosses sometimes colonize the surface, and the Xaxim begins to become green after approximately two to three months.
Please note: Our substrates are not mixed and packaged by machine and may therefore sometimes have slightly different compositions. Also, please allow for approximately 10% more substrate when potting due to the need for firming.
